about

found the first of the 2 "lost" 469 lps i'd consider part of the project's main body of work (the name was briefly used for an audacity noise project) buried in the drafts of an old bandcamp page. a lot of it is very primordial, especially if you're familiar with the "Gross Beat" tool in FL Studio. there's still some interesting stuff going on in here, though. all produced in real time with minor editing in post, setting the precedent for future 469 releases.

was ~14 when i made this. the song "Foot Deep," the first "official" MC 469 track, was originally going to be a part of this lp, but it sounded too different from everything else on the record, so it was buried. check that out here:

this was first uploaded on my personal page at the time, then later posted to a label called "Burn Ward Records," run by a guy called Skeletal, which is now sadly defunct. no tapes were pressed of this record, but he did press some copies of the as of now completely M.I.A. album "Seasonal Rot" on there. no clue if anybody bought one of those, but if there's surviving copies of that out there, that's the best hope for that ever seeing the light of day again.

that label was a really intense hub of teenage arthouse energy, fuckin buncha 16 year olds making audacity collages and chopped & screwed tapes and throwing them out into the void. incredible. seems like a lot of them have fallen off the face of the internet sadly.

the Burn Ward version of this record has some differences to the original. i might be mistaken, but a couple of the songs on the "full" version of this release might have been made as bonus tracks to the Burn Ward upload of the record, since the owner didn't just want there to be 2 identical versions of the same album up online on different bandcamps.

some tracks had to be trimmed down due to upload limits at the time. a lot of the songs on this upload are being released in their full forms for the first time track 4 was originally titled "Hope U Get Cancer," very edgy, which Burn Ward changed to "H.U.G.C." i was upset about that at the time, but now i see it was probably ideal. this upload is a mesh of the two uploads.

one more fun fact: the butterfly garden referenced in track 5's title is the same butterfly garden featured on the cover of the Jorge ep Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. lore lore lore lore.

published to Burn Ward record on May 10th, 2014. not sure about the date of the original upload, but i'm confident it was before the release of "Absolute Hell 469."

the cover art is in a lower quality than originally intended due to jpeg artifacting. the original cover art was 1000x1000 pixels, uploaded back when that was the lower limit i believe. the original sized cover has been included as a bonus item with this download, labeled "dsgrsd.png." lol.
